Rail access below Terminal 1
The airport station is directly below Terminal 1 on level U2. For Terminal 2, airport guidance takes you via the arrivals level E0 and the signs to T2. Include that walk with your luggage when comparing train arrival and flight departure. Use the current timetable, and check late services for your return journey too.
Check your terminal before leaving
T1 and T2 belong to the same airport, but they are not interchangeable meeting points. Use the airline’s terminal information and the current airport plan. If driving, the parking area you choose adds another part to the route. Consider walking distance, luggage and any assistance you need rather than assuming arrival at the airport means arrival at check-in.
Make short trips work in real time
Begin with all available map connections and narrow to direct flights if useful. For a short break, compare time at your destination alongside the fare. A better outward and return schedule can be more useful than a small saving. A missing map marker does not establish that a destination has no flights from Berlin.
Your airport choice starts at home.
A low fare from a more distant airport does not automatically make the overall trip cheaper. Add rail tickets or fuel, parking, any overnight stay before departure and the time involved. Think about the return too: the last train may have left by the time a late flight lands. Families should also consider luggage and the number of changes on the way to the terminal. Give your local airport a fair comparison with a major hub. Our airport pages show your starting point and nearby alternatives.
